About the Role

The Environmental Technician will be part of our Terrestrial Environmental team with project work for World Energy GH2 on the Port au Port Peninsula and Codroy/Anguille Mountains region, Newfoundland and Labrador. This part-time position will be focused on supporting bird and bat data collection related to WEGH2’s Green Hydrogen Project Nujio’qonik. Work will include deployment, maintenance, and retrieval of scientific data collection equipment and assisting with field logistics, data collection, and data management as required. What You Will Bring

  • Post-secondary education in biological and/or environmental sciences at a technician level or higher
  • Competence with field equipment and logistics
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with the Port au Port Peninsula and Codroy/Anguille Mountains region
  • Ability to communicate reliably and work extended hours when required
  • Outdoor skills, construction skills, trailer towing, and ATV experience considered an asset
  • Ability to conduct fieldwork for periods of 2 weeks or more at a time
  • Willingness to work in challenging outdoor environments
  • Positive attitude and flexibility to go with the flow

Additional Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in Canada
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s record
  • Undergo drug and alcohol testing, medical, and physical as required
  • This position is based in western Newfoundland, as a field position
