Capsule Resume

Chelsea Bishop began working with seabirds during her undergraduate degree examining the parental behaviour of Northern Gannets at the Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve in Newfoundland. She has experience with wildlife rehabilitation, marine interpretation, and has worked as a marine mammal and seabird observer offshore. Chelsea has also been involved in songbird banding, wind turbine thermal imaging testing, and common loon relocation programs. While conducting her M.Sc. at McGill University in Montreal, her thesis focused on the effects of increasing dissolved organic carbon in lakes on fish morphology. This project allowed her to gain experience with fyke-netting, electrofishing, geometric morphometrics analyses and more. Throughout her Master’s degree, she also had opportunities to conduct international field work including stickleback eco-evo in Alaska, paleontology in Colombia, and Darwin’s finch work in the Galapagos.
