Administrative Assistant

Paradise, NL – Canada

As a full-time, salaried Administrative Assistant, the successful candidate will work Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm as a key member of the administrative team providing crucial services and support to professional biologists and managers. Due to the nature of the position, this would be an in-office posting, although remote work may be possible during special circumstances.

The work is highly variable, with each day bringing new challenges working both in a team and independently. The position involves access to confidential information that must be treated accordingly.

Consulting Arborist

King City, ON – Canada

The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in arboriculture, horticulture, biology, or environmental science, with field experience, including tree identification skills. The position requires working outdoors throughout the year in sometimes arduous terrain. Office work will require familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, and Teams. The candidate will have one to two years of arborist experience, although training will be provided for new graduates from arborist or similar programs. This is an 8-month contract position with opportunity for renewal or transition to salaried employment.

Senior Fisheries Biologist

Sidney, BC – Canada

The Senior Fisheries Biologist focuses on projects that involve research or assessments and/or restoration of terrestrial, freshwater, and/or marine ecosystems. This role involves using different tools and equipment to deliver projects involving the assessment and conservation of Pacific salmon species (Chinook, Coho, Sockeye, Pink/Chum) and other aquatic species (Steelhead and trout). This exciting opportunity as a Senior Fisheries Biologist will involve leading and supporting projects, coordinating and organizing field teams, and supporting business development through project coordination, proposal writing, mentoring team members, and participating in internal process development and implementation.

Senior Terrestrial Biologist

Sidney, BC – Canada

LGL is seeking a business-minded Senior Terrestrial Biologist who can develop business, manage projects, and provide technical expertise. Reporting to a Wildlife Discipline Lead, the Senior Terrestrial Biologist will be part of our applied ecological research team with project work focusing on the ecology of terrestrial and wetland ecosystems, primarily in British Columbia and Alberta, with opportunities to work in other regions in Canada or the US.

The Senior Terrestrial Biologist focuses on projects involving research and/or assessments of terrestrial, freshwater, and/or marine ecosystems. The Senior Terrestrial Biologist will use their experience and expertise to support organizational business development through staff mentoring, project and budget development, research and data collection, quality control and assurance, and working with Indigenous communities, government bodies, and another clientele.
