Lily Ahern is a biologist with a strong foundation in the ecology of British Columbia’s flora and fauna, supported by a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Victoria. Her experience spans both aquatic and terrestrial environments, with expertise in environmental field assessments, biological surveying, and ecological monitoring. She has contributed to a range of projects involving breeding bird point counts, fish spawning assessments, fry outmigration monitoring, and vegetation community surveys.
Lily’s practical fieldwork skills include flora and fauna identification, data collection using GPS and remote sensing tools, and environmental sampling following established safety protocols. Her background also includes technical and scientific writing, data analysis using R and Excel, and preparing documentation to support long-term ecological studies.
She previously held a Terrestrial Biologist Co-op role at LGL, where she conducted habitat assessments, managed field equipment, and supported data integrity for research programs. Certified in Electrofishing and First Aid, Lily is well-prepared to support multidisciplinary environmental programs. She brings a collaborative attitude, a strong attention to detail, and a deep interest in the protection and study of natural systems.
