Caralee Baker is a biologist who has a keen interest in policy and regulation. Caralee graduated from Dalhousie University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Animal Science. During her degree, she gained experience in plankton sampling, toxicology testing, and invertebrate identification. Caralee has worked in animal husbandry and environmental consulting and research, which has involved scientific data collection, monitoring water quality, and conducting environmental assessments. While working as a bird and wildlife monitor, Caralee conducted pre-construction bird/wildlife sweeps and habitat classification and mapping. She has experience in the Athabasca oil sands with monitoring for and implementing a deterrence program for waterfowl at tailings ponds. In her time with LGL, Caralee has conducted bird nest sweeps, environmental assessments, bioacoustics monitoring, and technical reporting for species at risk.
