Ian Beveridge has a broad range of experience that includes freshwater fisheries, marine ecology, oceanography, and acoustic telemetry. His interests and expertise include habitat assessment and applying acoustic technologies to understanding animal behaviour and distribution. Since starting with LGL, Ian has worked on a variety of projects in British Columbia, Alaska, and Washington. He has assessed White Sturgeon distribution using sonar, participated in mark‑recapture and radio‑telemetry studies of Pacific salmon, conducted juvenile sturgeon surveys, and evaluated habitat restoration projects.

Prior to joining LGL, Ian worked for 10 years as a fisheries biologist in southeast British Columbia where he managed and conducted a range of projects including habitat assessment, fish inventory, and riparian restoration. He also provided technical expertise to community groups developing fish habitat restoration projects. Following graduate school, he worked as a sea-going marine science and acoustic telemetry technician where he participated in research projects in the Pacific, Atlantic, and Arctic oceans. Ian is a Registered Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio.) in B.C. under the College of Applied Biologists.
