Samantha Cassidy is a graduate of Mount Royal University, holding a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Honours). During her studies, she conducted research on the impact of the Big Bar landslide on Fraser River Sockeye Salmon genomics. Samantha has served as president of Nature Calgary’s Board of Directors for several years, further demonstrating her dedication to conservation efforts. With hands-on fisheries assessment experiences working with salmonids and other fish species in the Nass River watershed in northern British Columbia, her involvement in the Nisg̱a'a Fisheries and Wildlife Department stock assessment program, and her field experience in collecting and recording biological data from Nass River salmon, trout, char, and Pacific Lamprey species, Samantha brings valuable skills and knowledge to fisheries assessment initiatives. Her strong data management skills and passion for conservation make her a great addition to the LGL team.
