As LGL’s Corporate Health & Safety Manager, Lucia Ferreira is committed to preventing workplace accidents and promoting health and safety awareness. She has implemented continuous improvements to the Safety Program over the last decade.

Lucia also provides Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support for a wide variety of research projects. She has experience in data capture, editing, map and data processing, and creating map products. She has produced First Nations traditional land use and resource maps in support of Treaty negotiations.

Additionally, Lucia is a scientific technician and has worked on a wide range of fisheries, wildlife, and marine mammal projects. She is an experienced fish-tagger, having surgically implanted thousands of radio tags as well as hydro-acoustic tags into various fish species. Lucia also works as an environmental monitor on development projects, ensuring that proper procedures are followed in accordance with project-specific Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) as they pertain to fish, wildlife, and habitat.
