Victoria Garofalo began working with LGL Limited in 2010 and has worked on a wide variety of projects including roles in both terrestrial ecology and GIS analytics. Her GIS efforts include conducting desktop and web-based mapping of various natural heritage features on a variety of projects and field programs throughout North America using ArcGIS software. Project specific work includes mapping existing and historical natural heritage features, wind power projects, municipal infrastructure impacts, field study design/planning, field data collection, and extensive tree inventory and tree management plans. Victoria also works extensively with ArcGIS Online to help provide field staff with modern tools to complete field assessments with ease.
Victoria also has significant terrestrial field ecology experience through completion of field assessments for breeding birds, terrestrial wildlife, botany, arborist assessments, nesting surveys, surface water sampling, and targeted Species at Risk surveys to support a wide range of projects. Victoria is also certified in Ecological Land Classification. During University, Victoria also completed focused field work related to the breeding behaviours of Acadian Flycatchers including netting, banding, nest searching, behaviour monitoring, and collecting blood and feather samples from adult and nestling birds.
