Dr. Pascale Gibeau has a diverse background in academia and consulting. Her work has involved community ecology; long-term studies of the effects of regulated rivers and hydroelectric reservoirs on ecosystems, wildlife and fish in British Columbia and Alberta; and academic research. Dr. Gibeau has designed studies and sampling plans; conducted field work; performed biostatistical analyses and modeling techniques, including general(ized) linear/additive (mixed) models, power/sample size analyses, clustering and ordination techniques, community similarity analyses, complex multivariate statistical analyses (e.g., canonical analyses, variance partitioning, multivariate regression tree), population dynamic models, bioenergetics simulations, and simulation modeling. Her Ph.D. research involved modeling impacts of flow diversion by run-of-river hydroelectric projects on fish bioenergetics, growth, and population dynamics. She is familiar with the R language and has strong coding abilities. She is a Registered Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio.) under the College of Applied Biologists and the Association of Professional Biology of British Columbia. Dr. Gibeau’s versatile communication skills enable her to communicate complex statistical challenges and scientific results to scientists, managers, and laypeople in English, French, and Spanish.
