Astrid Hawkes is a graduate of the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, where she focused on the flora and fauna of British Columbia, entomology, and flowering plant identification. After completing a Field Soil course through the Columbia Mountains Institute of Applied Ecology, Astrid developed a strong interest in soil-related work. Astrid’s field experience includes songbird surveys, vegetation surveys, soil sampling, Canadian Toad swabbing, servicing ARU, and remote sensing equipment.
