Andrew Mellick is a recent addition to LGL Limited, joining in January 2022. He brings 10 years of various GIS experience from both the private consulting industry as well as the municipal sector. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography and a post‑graduate diploma in GIS & Database Management. While in the consulting industry, Andrew served as a GIS Analyst to various solar, wind, and hydroelectric projects throughout Canada. He provided GIS support in creating setback and spatial analyses to ensure that over 40 solar projects were meeting provincially established regulations as part of the Renewable Energy Approvals process. Andrew served as a GIS Manager to a pair of large wind projects and was responsible for all spatial data relating to the preliminary engineering design. He has also undertaken various hydraulic analyses utilizing HEC-GeoRAS and MIKE by DHI for several hydroelectric facilities.

While working in the municipal sector, Andrew had a wide variety of GIS duties relating to asset management and corporate communications. He has experience in the field in performing differential GPS and Total Station survey work. He has also worked with engineering drawings and field survey data to update corporate GIS infrastructure records as well as providing analyses and cartographic products for internal departments and public consumption. A highlight was working with INFOR to develop a robust GIS based dispatch system for the St. Catharines Fire Department and working with the County of Simcoe Transit team in scoping and developing several new transit routes.
