Sydnie Power completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Memorial University with a focus in environmental and marine studies. Through her degree, she has gained experience with scientific theory and practical applications, Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) and associated hardware/software, the principals of underwater acoustics, environmental assessments, and field sampling of fish and fish habitat. Since working at LGL, Sydnie has analyzed long-wave infrared (LWIR) video to test the efficacy of a novel marine mammal IR camera system deployed offshore Newfoundland and British Columbia. She has also contributed to a Spill Impact Mitigation Assessment (SIMA) for exploratory drilling offshore Newfoundland.
