Diogo Sayanda is a Senior Biologist with over 20 years of experience in environmental science, data analysis, and biomonitoring. His career spans government, consulting, and academic sectors, including 7 years with the Government of Alberta and more than a decade as both project manager and owner of an environmental consultancy.
He has led and contributed to over 150 environmental monitoring and impact assessment projects, with expertise in aquatic ecology, population genetics, and conservation biology. He holds a Master of Science in Biostatistics and a Licentiate degree in Applied Biology, both formally recognized in Canada.
Highly skilled in statistical programming and data interpretation, Diogo is proficient in R, Python, and GIS tools, and brings deep experience in protocol development, field program execution, and technical reporting. He has published 13 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to numerous scientific presentations and posters.
At LGL, he brings a strategic, data-driven approach to environmental projects, with a strong focus on integrating science, policy, and practical application.
