Jesse Sinclair is an aquatic biologist with over 10 years of experience in designing and implementing water quality and sediment quality assessments in Canada and the United States to support environmental impact assessment, ecological risk assessment, and Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA). He is a Registered Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio.) in B.C. under the College of Applied Biologists.

Jesse has represented First Nations on reviews of both environmental assessment applications and Environmental Management Act discharge applications, evaluating the potential for impacts on aquatic environments from mining and other industrial projects in British Columbia and Yukon.

Over his professional career, Jesse has developed the British Columbia Water Quality Guideline for cadmium and site-specific water quality objectives to support environmental management. Jesse has developed site-specific sediment quality benchmarks for metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and has developed tissue-residue benchmarks for dioxins/furans in fish to support NRDA. His work in the field of NRDA has also included the development of spatial and statistical tools to estimate ecological service losses to support injury assessment and restoration planning.
