Karle Zelmer has experience with non-profit organizations, university laboratories, Indigenous governments, and provincial government. In these positions, she has worked on a broad range of projects assessing anthropogenic impacts on fish and wildlife, monitoring wildlife movements, and conducting wildlife and fisheries inventories. These projects focussed on a variety of vertebrates including ungulates, mesocarnivores, carnivores, fish, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.

As a wildlife biologist with LGL Limited, Karle continues to develop her skills and interests in wildlife ecology. Projects such as the monitoring of early successional wildlife on reclaimed sites in the Alberta oil sands region and monitoring reptiles and amphibians and their habitats in the drawdown zones of Arrow Lakes and Kinbasket reservoirs provide these opportunities.
