About the Role

The successful Senior Landscape Architect will have extensive knowledge and experience in the application of landscape architectural principles and practices in Ontario’s regulatory framework. This individual will also have demonstrated understanding of ecological disciplines (e.g., planning, terrestrial) and the importance of their integration for effective project delivery.

What You Will Do

  • Complete technical drawings for a variety of public and private sector landscape architectural projects including parks, trails, streetscapes, and buildings
  • Work as a business-minded landscape architect who can expand LGL’s current client base, develop business and manage projects
  • Prepare conceptual designs, presentations, design development and construction documents across a wide variety of projects
  • Offer mentorship and coaching to junior landscape architects and designers
  • Prepare, review, and stamp landscape designs and take ownership of that process
  • Prepare quantities and cost estimates, specifications, and tender documents
  • Communicate with colleagues, clients, agencies and other stakeholders through meetings, presentations, and workshops
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring

  • A minimum of 5−7 years of professional design experience working in a landscape architectural firm
  • Full member of OALA with Certificate and Seal
  • A proven track record in business development, including project scoping, budgeting, client development, and promotion of services
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD is a must have. Experience with SketchUp, Adobe programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design) is also preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing and managing projects, including budget and schedule control
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
